Coaches are professionals who through their training and experience will have synthesised the most effective techniques used for goal setting, planning, reverse engineering, mentoring, positive psychology, psychotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming and cognitive behavioural therapy.
- The curious but true need for permission to change, particularly when you know doing so means fundamental changes to your current way of life and relationships.
- Increasing self-awareness and identifying your strengths. We are aware of only a small part of ourselves, when you read a self-help article you are reading it within the framework and limitations of your current awareness. A coach will help you break through to a new level of awareness, identifying your strengths and removing limitations.
- Challenge how Society trains us in many ways that don't serve our happiness. We often develop unhelpful attitudes (for example, an "entitlement mentality" the world owes us happiness), low stamina and fear of change. A coaches understands how these attitudes can distract you, a coach will work with you to keep you focused, positive and productive.
Coaches aren't fundamentally better people, they too are on a journey - but they do have some exceptionally useful training, techniques and experience ready to serve you in living your most fulfilling life.
